General Info
The Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel is the area's most comprehensive family of funeral services. Our facilities include the Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel in Ontario, Oregon, the Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel in Payette, Idaho, Rosedale Memorial Gardens in Payette, Idaho and the Haren-Wood Crematory in Ontario, Oregon. The Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel has been serving the communities of Malheur, Payette, Washington and Adams counties since 1965. Beginning as Ontario's Chapel of the Roses and the Chapel of the Roses in Payette, the name of the chapels changed to the Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel in 1995 when Steve Wood and Dennis Haren purchased both chapels along with the Rosedale Memorial Gardens in Payette. The improvements made to the facilities won them the Beautification Award in 1996. In 1998 we added the Western Treasure Valley's first crematory to better serve those families wishing cremation. After Steve Wood's retirement in 2003, Dennis and Dawn Haren took over the full ownership and management of both chapels, the crematory and cemetery. Because of the increase in the families of the area's desire for cremation we realized that many of those families had their interment out of the area or chose to scatter the ashes and had no real place to go for memorialization or simply remembering the life of the one that lived. Because of this we created the Tribute Courtyard. Located in Payette at the Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel this cobblestoned Tribute Courtyard consists of a beautiful comforting fountain, seasonal blossoming flowers, a granite bench, thundering Chinese plumb tree and bush and a granite Tribute Rock for the placement of the names of anyone you wish to remember. This court yard won the Beautification Award in 2005. Future projects include a gazebo and scattering garden to be placed at Rosedale Memorial Gardens.
