Liberty Resources was founded in 1980 as Resources for Living Independently. It is a consumer-driven and nonprofit organization that offers services for individuals with disabilities. It supports Consumer Connection, a group that advocates issues related to personal assistance, housing, health care and transportation. The organization offers training for the development of independent living, budget management, meal preparation, socialization and communication skills. Liberty Resources also maintains peer and cross-disability support groups. Its Liberty Resources Academy offers vocational classes and employment services. Additionally, the organization provides assistance with personal hygiene, shopping, laundry and cleaning. Liberty Resources also offers information and referral services. It maintains an office in Oneida N.Y.
