Dundee Montessori has been educating the children of Omaha for 25 years! We enroll only 30 children so that your child will have a close knit school family away from home. Our small, two classroom state certified private school offers registration options for your child ages 2.5-6 years. We offer 5, 4, 3, or 2 full days or morning only preschool. This small, comfortable environment allow children to progress at their natural pace. Hands-on manipulative materials teach the students concepts of math, phonics, writing, science, art and small motor skills. Montessori is packed with exercises that keep a child involved in learning and fun! Here are some examples! Clay Images - Understanding My World Through My Personal Creations • Carolyn Hadsell is a potter who has worked in clay for over 30 years. Dundee Montessori children benefit from her clay background in our "Clay Images" program! Students make award-winning handmade pottery projects, which have proven to become family keepsakes. The school has a kiln and we glaze and fire projects on site. Art - Understanding My World Through Creative Outlets • Owner, Carolyn Hadsell, has a BFA in Art Ed. K-12, and years of experience teaching art to children and adults. Music - Understanding My World Through Singing, Dancing and Movement • Daily music, movement, or yoga compliments our program of old traditional folk songs and rhythm instrument playing. One of the favorite activities is singing and dancing to our Appalachian dulcimer. Japanese - Understanding My World Through the Use of Other Languages • Carolyn taught Montessori in Tokyo for two years. She is able to bring exposure to Japanese language and customs to your child. We teach colors, numbers, names of animals and songs. Daily attendance is taken in Japanese and children celebrate holidays such as Hina Matsuri.
