Waited until 2 days before closing to tell me I had to go hire a lawyer in order to clear a "cloud" over the title. The legal document they requested was not a real thing, something they just made up. Getting this wasn't possible in the timeframe, so in order to close on time, I was forced to let them hold on to a large portion of my proceeds until such non-existent legal documentation was produced. I had to go to court and convince a judge to sign paperwork that from a legal standpoint, made no sense whatsoever. The judge only signed it because they understood the predicament this title company put me in, and that if they didn' sign it, I would be bringing the title company to court and suing them for the money instead. The lawyers that work for this company must have failed law school several times, and their reading comprehension skills are marginal at best.
