Since 1989, The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound is one of the leading philanthropy organizations in the United States. Located in Olympia, Wash., it serves as a catalyst for charitable giving in Thurston, Lewis and Mason counties. Donors support a wide variety of arts, education, health and human services, as well as environmental projects. There are about 700 community foundations across the country that connects donor interests with community needs. The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound helps a donor to manage the fund, oversee investment and maintain tax records. Various types of funds include unrestricted community funds, field of interest funds, scholarship funds, designated funds and agency endowments.
