In operation for more than 30 years, the Lewisburg Fire Department provides fire suppression, rescue and emergency medical services for the residents of Desoto County in Mississippi. The department was chartered by the state of Mississippi in 1976. Its over 4,450-square-foot structure features a kitchen, dayroom, restroom and several engine bays. The Lewisburg Fire Department also copes with a variety of emergency situations. The department s volunteer program includes emergency response, training, fundraising, maintenance and other special activities. In addition, the program organizes classroom instruction for volunteer firefighters. The Lewisburg Fire Department maintains a fleet of rescue pumpers and light brush trucks.
