Kirtz® Shutters are typically made of maple because of its superiority in strength and resistance to indentation. We have customers who still have the original shutters from decades ago in their homes. However, we can make interior shutters from other hardwoods such as walnut, red or white oak (rift-, quarter- and plain sawn), knotty pine, beetle kill pine, alder, knotty alder, ash, cherry, ), knotty pine, mahogany, and many others. Kirtz® shutters are carefully crafted to accentuate the individuality of your home. We use only hardwood and the best paints and stains for durability. The stiles on our shutters are strong and warp-resistant. Thanks to the use of Old World Joinery, a Kirtz® Shutter can never come apart. The elliptical louvers provide superior temperature and light control. The sculptured tiltrod has a substantial feel and works without fail. Our tensioning system ensures that the shutter looks good, no matter how often you open and close the louvers. Kirtz® Shutters crafts architectural shapes with movable or fixed louvers, no matter the shape of the opening.

My experience with Kirtz Shutters, Stillwater, was not all that favorable. I was told my wood valance & blinds would take 4 wks. After 10 wks & not hearing a word from this co. I called to see what was going on. I was told the valance should be in that week. Didn't hear anything that week but finally got a call the following wk. They wanted to come early, early in the morning because they were just so busy with out of town clients & bigger jobs. When they came the valance did not fit correctly. You could see light coming thru at different point of the arch...it looks just awful. Two weeks after they think they have it fixed, they come back to install. It looks nice but I do not like the fact you can see the top screw on the outside of the window. After all the trouble I had, no one ever called to see if things were satisfactory after the installation. I guess my business wasn't worth their time & money. Would I recommend them?...No. This company did not work well for me
