As of December 2004, the company had more than 24 million barrels of oil equivalent of reserves. Gulfport Energy is the successor of WRT Energy Corporation. WRT filed for bankruptcy in February 1996 and Gulfport Energy emerged as the reorganized company in July 1997 and is a publicly traded company listed on the NASDAQ market under the symbol GPOR.
