Dr. Depp is licensed as an audiologist, certified in Audiology from the American Speech and Hearing Association, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. His career began as a civil engineer, but he soon developed an interest in Audiology in 1991, when Dr. J.V.D. Hough, M.D., gave him a job as a “hearing tester” at the Otologic Medical Clinic. Dr. Depp says, “At the clinic, I fell in love with serving.” Depp's background in engineering deepens his understanding of sound technology and hearing aids. Dr. Depp knows that one of the dangers of hearing loss is that people who suffer from it tend to isolate themselves. That's why he works with their families to encourage them to provide their support. Dr. Depp's professional passion is helping people to understand that results take time. He explains to them that the hearing system and the brain need to be trained. Dr. Depp teaches people how they can get the best results while being realistic.
