- **Your Child's Exam** Regular visits to our office should begin at six to twelve months of age as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and American Academy of Pediatrics. "First visit by first birthday" sums it up. Routine appointments should be scheduled every six months thereafter. The appointments are more than just cleanings. Your child will be examined by the pediatric dentist for: *Developmental and congenital abnormalities. *Appropriate development of facial structure *Presence of dental decay *Early orthodontic evaluation *Precancerous lesions and soft tissue pathology *Evaluation of the child's ability to cope with any further dental procedures Equally important, the doctor will be developing a relationship with your child to build his or her trust. This is best achieved when the dentist and the child interact on a one-to-one basis. For this reason, we request that the parents please remain in the w aiting room until the exam has been completed. After the exam, the doctor will consult with the parents about the dental needs of each individual child. **Follow Up Care** We pride ourselves on following through to give complete care to your child. **Radiographs** In order to complete a thorough evaluation on your child, a full mouth series of x-rays should be taken on the patients beginning at age three. **Appointments** Patients will be seen by appointment only.
