Merichem is a technical innovator in the production of pure isomers from naturally occurring sources and Sasol specializes in production of synthetic fuels and chemicals from coal, as well as is the largest producer of cresylic acid feedstock in the world. It works in a partnership with Chang Chun Plastics, which produces high-grade orthocresol novolac.
