Going back to the Anchorage for the 8th year next week. Cannot wait. A little pricey, the Anchorage offers very basic, clean motel rooms. The staff is not the friendliest, but not unfriendly either. Just kind of there. Staff and guest coexist without much interaction. The view is to die for, and the property is great. There is a variety of pools and hot tubs for all ages (after years of not enforcing the "No kids in the hot tub" rule, they finally wised up and got a hot tub that the kids are allowed in). The snack bar/restaurant is a great convenience and the food is pretty good too. Again, can't beat the view while you eat your cinnamon roll by the pools in the morning. They offer restaurant style dinners now too, al fresco. Right on the Marginal Way, the hotel is a 10/15 minute walk to the gorgeous Ogunquit main beach. After 6 years, we finally discovered the small, more private beaches off the Marginal Way, just minutes from the hotel. Try the Oarweed for dinner if you go!

Stayed here in a Starboard ocean view room for one night on our engagement weekend and got no sleep due to the endless snoring of the man in the room next door. The walls were so thin, we could hear the TV and normal conversations from next door. When we called to complain at 1am, the person at the desk said she could "try to look for another room". We declined to move because we were getting up in a few hours and didn't understand how a new room would solve the thin wall issue. Maybe they thought we wanted to listen to some new neighbors for the rest of the night? After packing up in the morning, we waited around until almost 9am after being advised that the manager would be in at 8. The manager Ms. Dickson refused to compensate us for our trouble saying that they had tried to rectify the situation by moving us in the middle of the night. She offered to delay our 11am checkout by a couple of hours...so we could take a nap...and listen to the housekeeper vacuuming next door...
wonderful resort, has something for all members of my growing family, have already booked for this summer againmet many other guests who have been staying for years, I think we have become one of them!
