- Dental Examination
- X-raysWe recommend taking X-rays around the age of two or three. The first set consists of simple pictures of the front upper and lower teeth, which familiarizes your child with the process. Once the baby teeth in back are touching one another, then regular (at least yearly) X-rays are recommended. Permanent teeth start coming in around age six, and X-rays help us make sure your child's teeth and jaw are healthy and properly aligned. If your child is at a high risk of dental problems, we may suggest having X-rays taken at an earlier age.
- Teeth CleaningIt is very important that you continue to visit your family dentist once every six months, even during your orthodontic treatment, for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups. If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to make sure that you are receiving the best care possible.
- Fluoride TreatmentDr. Pamela Sands provides comprehensive dental care for children, teens, and special needs patients. To ensure that your child grows up with a healthy smile, we offer sealants, fluoride treatments, tooth-colored fillings, and regular checkups. We educate children on the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene, ultimately establishing a positive foundation that will encourage them to continue a healthy routine as they move toward adulthood.
- Dental SealantsSealants cover the pits and fissures in teeth that are difficult to brush and therefore susceptible to decay. We recommend sealants as a safe, simple way to help your child avoid cavities, especially for molars, which are hardest to reach.
- Fillings
- VeneersYour mouth is scanned with a radiation-free laser and, in as little as two to three minutes, renders a digitally perfect, 3D impression of your teeth and soft tissue structures. Through digital software, you'll then be able to follow the progress of the scans, including a 3D model of your teeth on our computer screen. The iTero scanner can be used for any restorative treatment including crowns, veneers, inlays/onlays, bridges, and implants, as well as orthodontic treatments like Invisalign®.
- CrownsIf your child's tooth has been knocked out, find the tooth and rinse it with water (no soap), taking care to only touch the crown of the tooth (the part you can see when it's in place). Place the tooth in a clean container with milk. Call us immediately and/or head to the hospital. If you act quickly it's possible to save the tooth.
- Bridges
- Dental ImplantsTime is the most important factor when trying to save a tooth, so get to your dentist as soon as possible. In general, there is a 30-minute window of opportunity to re-implant the tooth in the socket.
- Oral Surgery
- Jaw SurgeryYour orthodontist can tell you if orthognathic surgery is needed as part of your treatment. Depending on the severity of your case and the alignment of your jaw, you may or may not need surgery.
- Maxillofacial SurgerySurgical orthodontics, also known as orthognathic surgery, is a type of orthodontic treatment used to correct severe cases that include bad bites, jaw bone abnormalities, and malocclusion. Oral and maxillofacial surgery is one of the nine recognized dental specialties, and it focuses on treating complex craniofacial cases that involve the mouth, jaw, face, and skull. If you need surgical orthodontics, your orthodontist will work with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon to ensure that you receive the best care possible.

- BracesFor most people, achieving a healthy, beautiful smile is the reason for receiving orthodontic care. If you're self-conscious about your smile, correcting your concerns with braces will greatly improve the way you look and feel.
- Teeth WhiteningThere are many reasons for getting professional tooth whitening, the most popular being the boost to self-confidence and self-esteem that comes from a great smile; a younger appearance; a special event such as a wedding, job interview or class reunion; to make a positive first impression or to simply reverse years of staining and yellowing from foods, beverages and/or smoking. Before beginning any whitening procedure, be sure to consult with a dental tooth whitening professional such as those at All About Smiles Dentistry so he or she may tell you whether you are a suitable candidate for treatment.
- Cosmetic DentistryMaybe you wouldn’t think so – or maybe you would – but teeth whitening is currently the number one requested cosmetic service, with its popularity continuing to soar according to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Interestingly and unbeknownst to many, our teeth aren’t supposed to be bright, gleaming white – however, that doesn’t mean they should appear dark, disgusting and uncared for.
