Excellent Breakfast, Delicious Biscuits.

Stopped by Van's Barbeque twice Labor Day weekend. trip to SA and back home. Best barbeque I've eaten in a long time and the sauce is so good too.

I have driven to the coast a number of times and noticed the VANNS signs along the road but never really paid much attention. A few fishing friends suggested we stop for BBQ on the way back to San Antonio. My 1st. visit convinced me this is a place to stop at on the way home. We used to eat something before leaving the coast. The BBQ is the best at great prices. A number of people I talked to mentioned they had been customers for 25 + yrs. on a weekly basis. The place is rustic and the service and people are very down to earth. My only complaint is they close at 7pm. This place must have been opened during the battle of the Alamo. Just a joke! "I"LL BE BACK!

We have been eating at Van's for many many years, and it has always been outstanding! Some of the best BBQ you can find.. We are getting ready to go to the coast again in a few weeks, and you can be we will stop here on the way.

I'm sorry, but I must disagree with the previous post. I get something "TO GO" from there quite a bit and I haven't noticed a change in quality. It's always GREAT! The above post must have had bad luck--at least twice.I hope you give the place a chance.

After making Van's Bbq a favorite for years, that is no longer the case. The meat is no longer great but instead very fatty which can be disgusting when chewing on animal fat that won't break up. I had this experience the last two times after being so good for so many years. Their sauce was not as good as it used to be which used to be so flavorful. In the last 3 months something has changed. Will no longer make it a favorite stop of ours in the future.
