I am deeply regretful of placing Mom here for skilled nursing. Despite low ratings, I was assured by friends in the field that the therapy was good. And therapy was good and mom liked her therapists. However, the desk staff are a nightmare. One actually outright lied to me in order to deny my rights under Medical Power of Attorney. I was also denied medical information under HIPAA, despite the fact that Mom had signed forms to give me access. The social worker was then supposed to help us find a facility to place mom in once therapy was complete. Instead of explaining the options-- home care, assisted living, nursing home-- she gave merely me a phone number to a placement agency that was unable to place us. Then she scolded me when I was unable to find mom placement on my own within 5 days. Interestingly, this "help" resulted in Mom staying there a few extra months while I continued searching... I guess that's one way to fill beds when your ratings are so subpar.
