Based in Oakland, Calif., Team-Up For Youth is an organization involved in creating after-school sports opportunities through training and consulting. The organization recruits, trains, assists students to participate in the community members in youth sports programs as well as provides funds to expand and improve the programs. Additionally, Team-Up For Youth educates and advocates youth sports to work with policy makers and sports stakeholders. It partners with colleges, universities, volunteer centers and after-school programs throughout California. Its Team-Up for Girls initiatives offers women coaches, sports curricula and girl-specific training and consulting to offer opportunities to girls to become athletes.
