A California Distinguished School, Mesquite Trails Elementary School provides a range of general academic programs to students in kindergarten through grade six. The school conducts classes in English, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education and art. Founded in 1997, it serves more than 700 students. The school s facilities include a cafeteria, auditorium and computer laboratory. It also maintains a library that stocks over 25,000 books. The school has a playground that features basketball courts, fitness centers, play structures, and softball and soccer fields. It operates MTPC, which is a nonprofit organization that sponsors a variety of school activities and fundraising events.
