Founded in 1985 to provide small and rural communities better access to emergency medical care, Air Evac Lifeteam is one of the largest independently owned and operated membership-based air ambulance services in the United States. Air Evac Lifeteam members pay a yearly fee that entitles them to use the helicopter during life- or limb-threatening emergencies at no additional cost. Membership coverage also includes hospital-to-hospital transportation services. Air Evac Lifeteam maintains its corporate offices in West Plains, Mo., operates regional offices and fueling centers in Oklahoma City, St. Louis and Nashville, Tenn., and is licensed as an air ambulance provider in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Illinois, Kentucky, Iowa, Alabama, Indiana and Texas.
