Dr. Ruben Kalra provides integrative and empathetic care to patients in pain. Trained at Harvard, he completed an anesthesia and critical care residency at Harvard's Brigham and Women's hospital followed by a pain management fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital. This stellar program enabled him to learn first-hand from the Brigham's pioneering pain treatment techniques. Dr. Kalra maintains double board certifications in anesthesiology and pain medicine. He is the Chairman of the Cross-Campus Pain Management Team for the John Muir Walnut Creek & Concord Hospitals and serves as a board member for the California Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. Dr. Kalra is the treating physician for the California Highway Patrol, several fire protection districts, and the Bay Area Pain and Wellness Center Functional Restoration Program. Dr. Kalra has an avid interest in the use of minimally invasive techniques for the relief of neck and back pain. Pain Medicine Consultants provides board-certified specialty care in the San Francisco bay area for all types of acute and chronic pain related conditions. We rely on a sophisticated combination of medications, interventional procedures, and wellness-based integrative techniques to insure that you ultimately are able to experience the maximum amount of long-term pain relief and maximal daily function. Our doctors are the only regional pain specialty practice whose physicians have both trained at internationally renowned universities (Stanford, Harvard, and the Mayo Clinic) and have been awarded double board certifications by the ABMS.
