Established in 1953, John I. Burton High School is a public school that offers learning opportunities for students in grades 8 through 12. It has a classroom capacity of more than 615 students. The school offers classes in various subjects, including math, science, social studies, language arts and computer education. John I. Burton High School also provides programs in Spanish, earth science, and special, business, vocational and physical education. It offers various sports activities, including basketball, football, baseball, volleyball, tennis, cross-country, softball, cheerleading, golf, and track and field. The school operates a chess club.
