A homey environment greets clients at Saddleback which immediately put both my dog and me at ease. It is not a huge impersonal facility. In addition, the owner lives on the grounds. The kennels and play area are clean and tidy and the staff takes a personal interest in each dog. Everyone I met was friendly and knowledgable. An introductory conversation took place with both dog and owner present. Dogs are provided with a supervised playtime at no extra cost. As for the training, it is superb. Nancy has the patience for even the most recalcitrant dog. She individualizes each session depending upon the dog's personality, temperament and goals. At the completion of training, these objectives are reviewed at length with the owner and demonstrated with the dog so training can be continued at home. As for my pup, he thinks he's going away to camp, not boarding, when he goes to Saddleback. We have both been very pleased.

My dog just spent a week at Saddleback Pet, unlike the other reviews I wasn't happy with the kennel. I really think this was a learning experience for me as well; when you walk into a kennel and it just smells, in the future that will be a sign for me to turn around. My dog lost 4 pounds there, her collar went back two notches! We picked our dog up after 9am and when we exited, she immediately urinated for a solid minute followed by a bowl movement. Would have been nice if they actually got the dogs in their care out FIRST thing in the morning, not after 9am. I know my dog, when she poops and pees as soon as she hits the dirt, it's the first time out in a long time! Unlike another kennel we've been to, she's been totally lethargic since her return back to us. . . bummer. These comments are my opinion, the kids working there seemed very nice, we just had a bad experience.

I have been taking my dogs to board at Saddleback Pet Services since the 1990s and they have always received excellent care from Nancy Fantom and her dedicated staff. They know all the dogs individually and make sure that each one get lots of attention and TLC. The fact that Nancy Fantom also offers training for dogs -- and their owners, of course -- is an added bonus, one which I have used both for puppy training and if behavioral problems have surfaced in older dogs. I live forty-five minutes away from Northwood but it's well worth the drive. I wouldn't board my dogs anywhere else. Susan Ware, Hopkinton, NH

Like most dog owners, my dog Boo means everything to me. I've had my share of duds when it comes to dog walkers, but when it comes to kenneling or watching my dog while I'm on vacation I'm even more hyper concerned. Thankfully all my fears were put to rest. And best of all, my Vet is the spouse of the owner.! He came back to me happy, healthy, AND WASHED! I couldn't believe it. Washed!. But most importantly he was obviously well cared for. I will be using this kennel again. I live in Boston and it is no where near where I live, but I know my dog will be cared for. Well worth the trip folks. Highly recommend!

Everyone at Saddleback really cares about each and every dog that is there. Nancy, the owner and trainer, is amazing with all dogs!
