• Leak Detection/Repair
  This was my first personal contact with Frank and his team although my brother (co-owner of our three family) had hired him before as have many neighbors on my street. I was very impressed by Frank's prompt and courteous manner, his ability to explain what needed to be done and why, and his efficient service in fixing a clogged drain and leaking pipes in the tub and shower area which also involved installing dry wall and replacing tiles. He even gave me a job lead when he found out I was looking for work!
• Pipe Repair/Replacement
  I left a message for Frank on a Friday evening and he called back early the next morning and he was at our house by 10 am. We had a cracked drain pipe and also a blockage somewhere within that pipe. Before replacing it he wanted to make sure that the blockage wasn't in the City portion of the pipe. He helped us contact the DPW, who came out the same afternoon and "snaked" the drain pipe from our foundation to the street. The blockage was within our pipe but because they were the original cast-iron installed when the house was built (back in the 1930's), Frank was afraid that they would burst if snaked. He recommended a pvc replacement pipe. We told him that we (2 adults & 3 kids) were literally 'dead in the water" because we couldn't use our sinks, shower, washing machine and toilets (we were staying at my in-laws). He was able to move one of his appointments to accommodate us a little earlier and he was able to begin and complete the pipe replacement the following Tuesday.
• Pipe Thawing
  If you get anything from this review it should be this... Frank Moody is, by far, the best plumber in the Quincy area. Don't even think about calling anyone else. I wish I knew that 22 years ago, when I came to Squantum. A few days of zero degrees and sustained high winds caused my baseboard radiators to freeze while I was away on vacation. The weather warmed and hot water steamed my front porch to the tune of $7,000 in damages. When I returned to Squantum, I called Frank Moody on the recommendation of a good friend. It was a very busy time for plumbers because a lot of people had frozen pipes that week. In spite of that, Frank got back to me by phone within a few hours to determine the scope of the problem. The fact that I had already shut off the heating zone water supply meant that my problem could wait while he helped the folks who were not so lucky, but he came over to see the job first-hand the next day after handling the emergencies. At no point did I get that, "Where the heck is that guy?" feeling that I have come to expect with most tradesmen. He inspired trust right from the beginning. Frank came back twice more, pulled out the broken, inefficient baseboard radiators and replaced them with high output, commercial radiators that now keep my porch livable all through the winter.
• Faucet Repair/Replacement
  Frank came highly recommended from friends and he has done a number of jobs for us (replacing water to our roofdeck, fixing a leaking pipe in our wall, repairing leaky faucets, replacing our furnace and hot water heater). Always professional and friendly, stands by his work, is dependable. We have referred him to many of our friends who have been very pleased. I wouldn't use anyone else.
• Plumbing Inspection
  One Friday evening, I was in need of a second plumbing inspection for a home we intended to buy,which was scheduled for Saturday morning. I called Frank after hours so I expected to get a VM. Much to my surprise, Frank not only answered but also told accepted the Saturday appointment. Frank show up and gave us an HONEST assessment of what needed to be fixed, when and how we should approach the repairs. He also provided a cost analysis and estimate that we could use during the home negotiation process. I would highly recommend him, and if/when plumbing issues arise again, I know not to get mad, but get moody.

  Frank replaced my gas water heater because it was leaking. He arrived exactly on time. He did a great job with replacing it and answered all of my questions. The price was very reasonable which is very important when you have an emergency plumbing issue.

  In the aftermath the water pressure in my place has never been better. My wife used to complain that it wasn't strong enough, and water sources would decrease if another one was used. That is no longer the case. She is very happy with the shower and she definitely enjoys them more. Happy wife happy life! And I was so happy with his service that I ended up getting a new sink installation too.

  When our dream home came along, we made the best call of our lives to Frank Moody. Frank is not only the most knowledgeable master plumber we have ever known and all-around great guy, but he also has a special knack for all things home buying. A trusted and well-respected professional, Frank was there for us from the initial home inspection and advised us on potential issues, ideas for renovations and general areas of improvement around the house. While we thought we would renovate one area at a time over the next year or so, we found ourselves with a unique opportunity of time before moving in: two months. If you had told us what Frank and his electrical and carpentry team would accomplish for us in the next two months, we never would have believed it. But in Frank we trust!! In just two months, Frank single-handedly completely re-piped the entire house of its old plumbing. He coordinated and executed the gut renovations of two and a half bathrooms. He brought the house up to code. He created the most amazing laundry room with new washer and dryer hookups where once there was no laundry. He brought gas, a water line and brand-new plumbing into our total kitchen renovation, and installed the biggest, most incredible sink you’ve ever seen, complete with our touch faucet and super-duty disposal. He installed a new water heater with proper capacity to accommodate our home and needs. He checked and tested our boiler in the middle of the summer to make sure we would be warm and toasty come winter. Frank even made his way outside and secured our lawn faucets. I cannot say enough about him and every last thing he did for us. From soup to nuts, Frank ensured everything in our new home was done right and done to last us for years to come. From the dumpster in our driveway to the final sign-off with the town inspector, Frank worked day in and day out to make sure we would be able to move in when our two months were up. We have unending appreciation for Frank and will never forget how hard he worked and everything he did for us. To you, Frank, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. Five stars don’t do you justice. We give you TEN and highly recommend you to the entire world!!

  Downstairs toilet went out so tried the DIY method to see if I could fix myself via You Tube. DIY did not work so I called Mr. Moody up to set up an appointment. Arrived within an hour of phone call and he had part in his truck and fixed running toilet problem. Frank is the #1 in plumbing and heating repairs on the South Shore.

He has done multiple projects ranging from leaking shower pipes, new shower mixing valve and shower head, new toilet and vanity installation, water heater and most recently a new boiler.   I was referred to Frank Moody two years ago by a friend. Unbeknownst to me when he arrived he recognized the address and had known my parents. He knew the layout of the house and did work for them in years past. In the 2 years since i was referred to him he has fixed a few clogged toilets, replaced bathroom faucets and yearly cleaned a very old boiler. Frank has always been professional, responsive, fair in price. hard working and extremely knowledgeable. He told me then that eventually i would need a new heating system and two months ago he told me the old boiler wouldn't make it thru this winter. I was extremely overwhelmed and he put me at ease explaining every detail about what would be done and who and when others would be entering my house. He went step by step explaining the entire boiler Installation/removal process and replaced new pipes, radiator valves, thermostat and then followed it all up and came back to check that everything was working properly and to show me how my shiny new boiler actually works. Frank, Jonah, the electricians; all took the time to answer my questions and they treated me with respect and shared their knowledge. I will continue to use Frank Moody for all my heating and plumbing needs and am fortunate I found the best!
