We were really looking forward to being on the beach providing we were renting sight-unseen while moving out of state. Our hopes were shuttered when we applied. I would not suggest renting from Gull Harbor unless you are willing to go through a major headache during their approval process. First of all, the rental rates they are advertising on various websites including the quoted rates that they email to you are not the actual rates when you apply. The quote we received says ~$1,800 for one unit and when we selected the unit during application the same day, it said that the same unit was over $2,200/month. When called the office they said sorry, our system is quoting the lowest amount for that unit (but since unit will be ready later you get to pay the higher price). Thank you but it would be good to have accurate information right away, that's what quotes are for. We selected another unit and paid $70 application fee per person. Just to find out that our applications were denied. When we called to find out why, we were told by the screening company that the reason was that my co-applicant had 27 (!!!) criminal records since 2005, which is completely false and none of these records are his. Turns out the company is using a cheap instant record screening company that doesn't bother to check the validity of the data, so they just did name based check for the common name and now we have to file a dispute which might take up to 30 days. Company is refusing to hold an apartment for us during this time, even though the rental won't even be available for the next 2.5 months, plenty of time to resolve the dispute. Our questions about obtaining a copy of their lease for review and me renting the unit while my co-applicant is disputing their inaccurate records provided by the company chosen screening company did not receive a response. Stay away from this place as it appears that they have shady practices and a horrible screening vendor, they take your application money and then deny you and offer to help whatsoever even though it's not your fault. Then they say you can come back rent later, when the unit you want might not even be available and might have much higher price. If you have been a victim of this, please report it to the Department of Housing and Urban Development and to the Federal Trade Commission. Worst experience ever so far.
Awesome place to live. Wonderful, pleasant staff. Friendly atmosphere. Across from the Gulf, 2 swimming pools (one is heated), and beautiful landscaping. Crime free area. Restaurants within walking distance. Staff takes care of any problem ASAP. We have become friends with several people living here. Lots of activities to choose from each month. What more could you ask for? We love living here and plan on spending the rest of our retirement years right here.
I am a resident of Gull Harbor who is very satisfied with the management and atmosphere of the residence. I hope I can live here for many more years. Whenever I appraise the management of a problem, it is attended to promptly. The property is always well kept.

I have lived here for 25 years and wouldn't live anywhere else.

Lived there for three (3) years. The management was arrogant and could never be trusted. Finally left when water leaked from the outside atmosphere through exterior walls into room, growing mold and mildew. They had no clue how to deal with this health hazard or were not going to the expense. The apartments are so old that even if they "remodel" you cannot keep the place clean. The residents, even some still living there, have horror stories about maintenance and how they have been treated. Some are very old and just cannot move! Our apartment is still vacant after six months and their lost rent of $6900. Don't believe the stories and there is a lot that is not included in the "tour."
