Glenallen Elementary School is a five-star public school serving students in prekindergarten through grade five. The school has an enrollment of more than 1,000 students and is part of the Sarasota County School District. It teaches a variety of subjects, including mathematics, social studies, science and technology, computer science, health education, English, arts and crafts, music and physical education. Its after school program, which is open to students from Monday through Thursday, offers reading, math and writing tutorials. The school also offers a drug abuse resistance education program to students during the school day. Its parent-teacher association sponsors various family events and academic enrichment programs throughout the school year. Through its Boosters club, the school raises money throughout the year by sponsoring various fund raising events, such as American Fundraising, Scholastic Book Fair, Panther Run, Carnation Sale, Spring Carnival, Home and Garden Party Candles and Market Day.
