Established in 1997, The City of North Miami Beach's Public Services Department operates through two divisions, including public works and public utilities. Its public utilities division specializes in managing natural resources and protecting and preserving the environment. Additionally, the division offers water conservation and education programs to civic groups, schools and resident associations. Its public works division is responsible for the safe movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic throughout the city. In addition, the division provides a range of services, such as repair and maintenance of roads and streets and checking the working condition of traffic signs and signals.
