Established in 1977, Safe Nest is one of the largest nonprofit organizations that provide supportive services for victims of abuse. It provides a 24-hour crisis helpline and safe houses to victims of domestic violence. The organization additionally offers community education, victim advocacy and prevention services. Safe Nest organizes parenting classes, support groups and other skill-building workshops for victims. It also provides housing assistance and referrals for financial and legal aid. The organization s community outreach program provides information and education to businesses, civic groups, health care providers and churches. In addition, Safe Nest offers specialized information on the dynamics of domestic violence to adolescents through presentations at community centers, Boys and Girls Clubs, adolescent treatment centers, and juvenile and child protective services locations. The organization maintains a presence in Las Vegas.
