The North Haledon Police Department is a law enforcement agency that protects residents lives and property, arrests violators of the law, and prevents and deters crime. The department is comprised of more than 15 sworn police officers, including lieutenants, sergeants, detectives and patrol officers. The North Haledon Police Department operates a bicycle patrol unit that provides uniformed patrol, crime prevention, emergency incident response, accident investigation and traffic law enforcement services. It supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an international education program that seeks to prevent the use of illegal drugs, membership in gangs and violent behavior.
