Dear chef Leggio, on behalf of my family & I, we all want to say thank you so much for such an incredible & amazing food this evening, I will never forget the first time I experienced your food, it was 1999 my dad had treated me to Leggio's in Hawthorne NJ I turned 15 years old & I will never forget that first taste I had of your famous stuffed artichoke, Then your seafood salad I was hooked from that day on then I had your Zuppa di pesci with your semolina Italian bread, OMG!!! well as you know we have been drive out to Jersey from the Bronx Arthur Ave, each Sunday just to eat at Leggio's, it was a Italian Sunday family tradition, when you told us that you where retiring from the restaurant business & had sold your restaurant my family actualy cried.. we all where extremely sad & shocked we did not know what to do for real authentic Italian food I remember you saying Im sure you can find a really good place near your home after all you live near Auther ave in the Bronx there must be a ton of Italian places that cook real Italian food its all Italians that that cook the food in those Italian places. Just so you know I have tried them all & to this day have not been able to find any Italian restaurants that could compare or even come close to your food Chef! Why do you think we would drive over an hour in trafic to your place? Leggio's in Jersey have been coming to Leggio's There will never be another place like Leggio's. when we saw your face book page saying your reopening again the first thing I did was call everyone in the family & tell them the unbelievable news !! my dad said that's nothing to joke about & was not convinced & had to call you & when you answered the phone & said Leggio's my dad jump up & almost fell of his chair!! he went nuts with Joy screaming it's really happening & called everyone he knows he made a reservation for all of us! I want to say you made us all so very happy & your food is still amzing!! I think it has only gotten better if that is even possible.. Dinner was absolutely amazing, Superb..Superb & better than superb!!!.Naturally I had my child hood favorite the BEST STUFFED ARTICHOKE in the universe!!!! First The food was fantastic. The seafood salad appetizer, oh my god !!! The salmon & shrimp stuffed with seafood is the best I have ever tasted, down to the broccoli and potatoes. Zuppa di Pesci mouthwatering octopus, callimari & scuglli lobster shrimp clams & mussels with your famous sauce was to die for!!! cooked perfectly fresh basil garlic & tomatoes aroma was making my head spin with joy!! everything we had was better than 5 STARS!!!! can't wait to go back. The staff, hostess and service is exceptional as well. My compliments to Chef Leggio, you have out done yourself. Leggio's is the place to be there is no one that can even come close to chef Leggio's food This is the greatest chef & Restaurant on the east coast & maybe in Italy. perfect spot for a date, dinner with friends, and a special occasion, we love that its still BYOB.Congratulations Chef ! Leggio's is BACK YES!!!! we are all so happy to see you back doing your thing!! & wish you much deserved success wealth & happiness!!!!
