Established in 1967, Lighthouse School, located in North Chelmsford, Mass., is a private, nonprofit organization that provides educational opportunities for special needs students. Formerly was known, as the Holy Union Special School offers services for special need children with various alternative resources. The organization is accredited by the National Association of Private Schools for Exceptional Children and is also affiliated with the Child Welfare League of America, Council for Exceptional Children, the National Association of Private Schools for Exceptional Children and the New England Association for Child Care. It operates according to a comprehensive biodevelopmental services model that offers services designed to promote total life development. The services are provided during the day, evenings, and weekends, on-site and also in the home communities of attending students. Lighthouse School s academic, therapeutic and life preparatory experiences are planned, designed and provided according to the individualized needs of each enrolled student.
