Located in North Andover, Mass., Greater Lawrence Sanitary District is a wastewater treatment facility providing primary sedimentation, biological oxidation, secondary clarification and treated effluent chlorination. The association supports five communities in northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire Lawrence. Based in North Andover, Mass., it engages in building, maintaining and operating a system of sewage collection and disposal with a greater objective of preserving the Merrimack River. Operational since 1977, Greater Lawrence Sanitary District also conducts industrial pretreatment programs covering electroplaters/metal finishers, printed circuit board manufacturers, textile mills, dairy manufacturers, pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturers, to name a few.
