Was a member for almost twenty years. The value of the membership and the clientele is not worth the price. The initiation fees have skyrocketed without a significant improvement in the services and amentities. The summer Sailing Program for children is nothing but a glorified day care program; neither the academics of seamanship nor mastering of sailing is focused on. The instructors, with the exception of the sailing director, are neither capable of effectively teaching students nor interested in teaching the art and joy of sailing. Sailing equipment is extremely dated and in many instances in dire need of maintenance. No golf course at the actual NYCC site. If you are serious in joining a Yacht and Country Club, I recommend you look elsewhere. Membership is an investement and the NYCC is unfortunately a poor investment.
