The Magistrates Law empowers anyone in Virginia to go to the magistrate and make claims against anyone residing in the state. This results in the magistrate issuing a warrant for the arrest of that person on behalf of the people of Virginia. This is the case for all Commonwealth states. However, one this happens, the person accused is mandated to attend a court hearing and face charges. If the charges hold water, another trial date is set. For Catholic priests who refuse to violate Catholic teaching and preside over homosexual marriages, this will soon result in the arrest of these priests upon the very day gay marriage is found permissible and legally protected by the state. If the supreme court judges in favor of same sex marriage, this will empower all who maintain it as illegal to discriminate in any way against homosexuality, to enlist the services of the police force protecting the people of Virginia, to arrest and book faithful Catholic Priests.
