The Maternal Fetal Medicine program is a division of the Eastern Virginia Medical School s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The program provides health care services for pregnancy-related medical disorders, such as HIV and AIDS, high blood pressure, diabetes. It offers a wide range of services, such as prenatal diagnosis, genetic analysis, collection of the umbilical cord stem cell, ultrasound and specialized nutritional counseling. It runs special programs to provide support services for teenage pregnancies. Additionally, the program conducts clinical trials in the areas of perinatal ultrasound, genetics and infectious diseases in pregnancy. The Maternal Fetal Medicine program is located in Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Newport News, Va.
