About MBS The Best Family legacy in access control started in 1925 when Marshall Best's grandfather, Frank E. Best, first invented the interchangeable core locking system. Dave is a 1975 graduate of Purdue University who brings a wealth of experience to us at MBS. He began his 22 year career with Best in the engineering department as a tool engineer and served as the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering and Chief Engineer before being appointed to Vice President of Engineering in 1991. He also served as the official corporate representative to the Builders Hardware Manufactures Association ( BHMA ) with responsibility for industry product standards formally adopted by the American National Standards Institute ( ANSI ). He was chairman of Section F and was a member of the Board of Directors. He is responsible for the specifications and standards used by our manufacturers to provide MBS products along with accounting duties. Dave also spent 5 years as an Operations manager for Bishop Steering Technologies, a company that was a leader in automotive technology and oversaw numerous projects with Ford Motor Company. Dave is excited about the opportunities for a company like ours to reach out and provide quality locking hardware systems and outstanding service to corporate America. Mike was hired by Marshall to develop an operations team that will be able to support the sales and marketing team nationwide. He has been hard at work in the implementation of our inventory control, developing nomenclature for over 2, 000 parts, building relationships with all of our manufacture's and partners. Mike has a strong background in this field after 25 years of service to Best Access Systems/Best Lock Corporation, managing several departments including, Assembly and Materials Management ( Master scheduling and procurement, production planning and others ). Mike strives for excellence in all that he does and is excited about the opportunity he has to serve customers and getting back to the basics of providing true customer service. Ed has an extensive background in sales and marketing, not only in the security lock and hardware industry, but also in the access control and specialty fire door industries. Ed began his 25+ year career in sales with Best Lock Corporation in Los Angeles, CA. He became President of Best of L.A. and later Best of Oregon, the first two sales subsidiaries in Best Lock Corporation. Later Ed was the first Contract Construction representative for Best Lock as they entered the new construction market.
