Overpriced, not competent, and a con-man: I brought in 2 vehicles. The first had a new rack and pinion installed at the cost of $880. I called 2 other shops nearby; both quoted me just under $700. The second car I brought in was a Subaru. I wanted it looked over so I could determine if I wanted to buy it from a private individual. Steve took it for a test drive then looked it over in his garage. I told him I was going to make an offer on the car but needed an objective assessment from him. He then told me it was in "very good" condition; A few of the instrument panel lights were on. He stated he could fix that for $150. Based on this, I made an offer on the car and bought it. I took it back to Steve to fix for $150. He had the car for a week, then tells me it needed a new head gasket that would cost $1,400. In addition, an oil selenoid, a new rotor and brake pad would be needed (I didn't ask how much those were going to cost.) I was in shock and asked him how he didn't see these things previously. His reply was, "I must have overlooked them." I got my car out of there. He still charged me $75 for "diagnosing", which is a crock because he didn't fix a thing. I then took the Subaru to another shop. The mechanic there told me "Steve" either did not know what he was doing or was trying to take advantage of me. Turns out the head gasket did NOT need to be replaced; neither did the oil selenoid. So right off the bat, he saved me from getting screwed out of more than $1,400. He fixed the instrument panel lights, and replaced the rotor and brake pad. My total bill was $325. In conclusion, Steve's Automotive, by far, has been the worst experience I have had with a mechanic in 35 years.

I have used Steve Forson for 13+ years and had to take something back one time for a stubborn light that did not want to re-set. He watches his workers carefully and does not keep sloppy mechanics. Plus, his daughter can work in the bays or manage the front end of the office equally well.

Talk about fair and honest! I would recommend these guys to anyone. I have used Steve to repair my vehicles for over 15 years. I have never had a complaint on anything he has ever done.

I've taken one of my vehicles to Steve's for two different problems. Each time Steve's has done excellent work in a very timely manner!! I definitely recommend them!

Have used these guys and recommended them for many times. They are fair and honest with the work they provide. They are the only local automotive repair shop I use.
