C&S Machine Products, founded in 1966 by Joseph Saratore and Harley Cole, began operations with the manufacture of prototype parts for Bendix Corporation. C&S Machine received a contract from the Studebaker Corporation to rebuild engine blocks and started its apprenticeship program in 1968. Over the years, C&S Machine purchased a Sheldon 1710 NC lathe and began to provide precision machining to local customers. In the mid-1980s, C&S Machine made the transfer to a nationwide customer base with the aerospace industry. The company added Leybold Vacuum Products as a customer providing capabilities, including computerized numerical control grinding and electrical discharge machining technologies. Some of its products include CNC gun drilling, CNC grinders, CNC wire EDM, CNC die-sinking EDM, CNC machining center for machining precision electrodes, hones, and saws. The services offered by the company include turning, milling, lapping, light assembly, multioperational machining, and matching of piston and sleeve assemblies. C&S Machine Products is located in Buchanan, Mich.
