- Primary CareFaustino D. Santiago, OD, FAAO, is a graduate of the University of Chicago and earned his Doctor of Optometry Degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. He returned to his hometown of Chicago, IL to complete a residency in Primary Care & Ocular Disease at the Illinois College of Optometry before transitioning to private practice in the northwest Chicago suburbs. He believes strongly that patient education is key to maximizing quality of care. As such, he has greatly enjoyed offering informative presentations to patients, as well as to colleagues in the form of continuing education. Dr. Santiago is also passionate about advocating on behalf of patients and fellow optometrists when proposed legislation threatens access or quality of care, so he is proud to have traveled to Washington, D.C. to represent doctors’ and patients’ rights, and to be a member of the Illinois Optometric Association. When not seeing patients, Dr. Santiago is testing recipes on his wife and daughter, trying to get back in rugby-shape, and sipping coffee while planning his next camping trip.
