Established in 1967, Gharda Chemicals Limited is a research-based company and a pioneer in agrochemicals, intermediates and veterinary drugs in India. Its various agrochemicals include insecticides, pesticides, fungicides and plant growth regulators. The firm generates annual sales of over $1 trillion, including exports of more than $86 billion. Its Dombivli and Lote plants are ISO 9001-2000, ISO 14001-2004 and OHSAS 18001-1999 certified. The company received the Chemexcil Trishul Award for outstanding exports among large-scale chemical manufacturers in 1995 and 1996. It is also a recipient of the Indian Ministry of Power s 2004 National Energy Conservation award. Gharda Chemicals Limited is the only Indian company to receive the U.S. Registration (the Environmental Protection Agency approval) for the sale of Chlorpyrifos insecticide and Dicamba herbicide in the United States.
