Catawba County Schools, located in Newton, N.C., provides a variety of educational and cocurricular programs to more than 16,000 students in prekindergarten through grade 12. It has more than 20 elementary, middle and high schools, including H. M. Arndt Middle School, Balls Creek Elementary School, Bandys High School, Banoak Elementary School and Bunker Hill High School. The district offers a variety of programs, such as English, arts, science, social studies, music, mathematics and physical education. Catawba County Schools also provides guidance, fine arts, English as a second language, information highway and parents as teachers programs. The district implements the No Child Left Behind Act.
