Hidenwood Elementary School, located in Newport News, Va., and founded in 1957, is affiliated to the Newport News Public Schools District. The school promotes a shared system of education, involving input from teachers, administrators, parents, community members and students. It enrolls students of all ethnic, racial, social and economic groups and offers various educational and cocurricular programs for students in grades kindergarten through five. Hidenwood Elementary School has more than 33 classrooms and is spread on an area of over 17-acres. It has more than 500 students and offers breakfast and lunch facilities in the school cafeteria. Hidenwood Elementary School has partnered with a variety of day care centers, including Children s World, Kindercare and Young Men's Christian Association.
