Dr. Z — as his patients call him — earned his medical degree from Midwestern University in Chicago. He completed his required internship at the University of Chicago Weiss Memorial Hospital. Next, Dr. Z began his residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation medicine at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston. He completed his residency through the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) program at West Veterans Affairs (VA) Los Angeles Medical Center. To further his expertise, Dr. Z went through fellowship training in orthopedic and interventional spine medicine at Portner Orthopedic Rehabilitation, Inc. in Honolulu. As a board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Z is known for his extensive knowledge and superior expertise. He specializes in the latest natural, non-surgical treatments and pain relief options. When Dr. Z isn’t busy caring for patients or being active in the community, he enjoys surfing, golf, computer programming, and spending time with his family. Dr. Z is also a licensed Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot. Patients of Dr. Z commend his warm, personal, caring bedside manner. After 30 years of policework, the job has taken a toll on my body. I have been a patient of Dr Z's since 2010. Its been a long process, many Dr's and more than seven surgeries to find the cause of the pain. So far no luck, however, Dr Z has not given up on me until we have exhausted ever medical avenue possible. Dr Z treats me for my daily pain I have, but if you expect Dr Z to just hand out pills to reduce your pain, then he will not be the doctor for you. All police officers highly recommend.

I went in with severe back pain. Dr. Zaffarkhan diagnosed the issue and explained how he would address the problem. After the treatment, I walked out symptom free. Dr. Zaffarkhan and his staff are a wonderful.
I actually look forwarded to going in to office for my treatments because I know I will walk out with less back pain. I am a very happy patient.
Dr. Z is always willing to take time to explain things in simple terms that make you understand what he is seeing. I never feel like he is rushed to get you in and out.

Dr. Zaffarkhan preformed a Radiofrequency Ablation on my c-spine. His staff was very welcoming and attentive. Dr. Z took his time to answer all my questions about the medial branch blocks that come before the ablation. Thank you Dr. Z for your help to my recovery.
Dr. Z took the time to listen to my pain and properly diagnosis the etiology of the symptoms with a thorough assessment. He did not promote invasive procedures first. I appreciate his help!
Dr. Z was very attentive and easy to talk to when it came to the pain in my neck and shoulder. He very quickly was able to locate the problem areas through manipulations and palpations, and after a few injections, I am doing much better.
Dr. Z, Wendy and Johnathan are great. Starting with Dr. Z who took his time to hear all of my concerns as well as explaining everything he was doing. Wendy taking the time to work around my schedule for my appointments and Johnathan keeping me calm when having my procedures making me laugh. You all are great and most of all my first visit i came in with severe pain I am leaving here today with no pain. I can not thank you all enough.
