John told me the boat I was buying was "completely ruined, why that boat it wont even float. He said it was full of water from a busted head because it wasn't stored properly, he stated this before the weather froze he has yelled at me just because I wanted to pay storage. Lori threatened to damage the boat, she said, "or else" to me sounds like they already have. Why are they so vicious? I have never meet any of the Guertins but over the phone truly and seriously scary most likely the $1550.00 I paid in storage will be kept and they plan on keeping the boat as well and I am out the cost of the boat. I can't take all the abusive vicious abrasive talk from both Lori and John. I have cried several times after their phone conversations, yelling at me then hanging up, and Lori's emails threatening to harm the boat.
We have been at this marina for 9 years. We would like to thank John and Lori for their professionalism all these years. They understand the short boating season that we have living in the Northeast so we really appreciate their prompt manner in addressing any questions or concerns. We would definitely recommend Yankee Landing to anyone looking for a marina in Newburyport.
I recently bought a sailboat that happened to be at the Yankee Landing Marina, and kept it there for 4 weeks as I fixed up small problems before launching. John Guertin, the marina owner, was sufficiently unpleasant that I considered trucking the boat out of there several times. Upon reflection, I realized that he's just subject to occasional rages: annoying, but not complete death. If you simply give in (which can be expensive), his mood will quickly change and he'll provide almost good enough service.
