General Info

South Junior High School, also known as SJH, enrolls students in grades six through eight. It offers classes in science, social studies and math, as well as conducts various concerts. The school also provides guidance counseling services. South Junior High School organizes various sports tournaments, including baseball, softball, tennis and golf. In addition, it maintains a library and media center. The school s extracurricular activities include drama, music and dance. South Junior High School also operates scrabble, chess and yoga clubs. It is a part of the Newburgh Enlarged City School District, which serves students in elementary, magnet and junior high schools.

Today my granddaughter was so excited to attend SJH. She was up at 4:50am, in the shower and ready for grandma to do her hair. Keep up the good spirit and have a bright and excited year at South.. Show off the SOUTH PRIDE!

I went to school here for three years (7th-9th grade) and it was probably the best time I had at school. My teachers were great and always helped me to succeed. Never let someone tell you not to go to school here becaues "it's in a bad part of town."
