- Forest Stewardship Programs The Forest Stewardship Program encourages the active management of forest resources owned by non-industrial private landowners. As a companion, the Stewardship Incentive Program (SIP) offers financial assistance to landowners on a cost share basis of specific management practices. The purpose of the Stewardship Program is to help landowners increase the benefits they derive from their land while conserving it for the future. This also benefits the community and larger forest landscapes. Who Is Eligible? Landowners who own land classified as non-industrial and private. Five acres must be, or planned to be forested. Please call for details. Working as the landowner's representative, we use the forest management plan to prepare timber for sale, advertise, and sell that timber on a competitive basis to the highest reputable bidder. Properly managed timber sales assure sound forestry practices while obtaining the highest dollar value for your forest products. Healthy, productive forests are a result of active management, which remove poor quality, mature, and over mature trees. Sustained yields of high value timber products can be realized by following YOUR management plan and working with a professional forester.
