Gencarelli's started in West Orange NJ in 2000, five years later moved our business to Newark NJ on Bloomfield Ave to expand. We are a Pizzeria offer take out and delivery service to surrounding areas. Wow! Was I ever glad I decided to have dinner here. I've heard about this restaurant from friends of mine that had been to their first place in W. Orange. Then I was told that they had taken over the Old Vesuvius on Bloomfield Ave. What a treat. The food was outstanding, the prices were modest, and the portions were like GrandMa used to put in front of me.My wife had the flounder Gencarelli, sort of a Franchese with Shrimp over Broccoli Rabe or Spinach, and I had a wonderful Chicken Oreganato. I left feeling that I probably wouldnt have to eat for at least a few days. The owners were very friendly, coming over to make certain everything was just perfect. They took me downstairs to show me the Cigar Bar also. I've found my favorite Italian restaurant!
