I ordered tires through the Veteran's Canteen Service, then called Palumbo's to confirm they were in. I was told the tires were in and no appt was needed, just walk in. I get there a couple hours later and was told they couldn't do anything for me because the ONLY person who knows how to do these transactions is not there. I had to come BACK today (over an hour drive) to get my tires. Secondly, I was told on the phone it WOULD NOT BE OVER $100 for mounting/balancing. I'm told today it is $134 due to TPMS. I would have had no problem with this if I was told up front, but I wasn't, plus already had to drive an hour out of my way and wasted the time I took off work yesterday. Finally, this is the fourth or fifth set of tires we have got here between my wife and I (definitely the LAST set) and every set of tires we've had installed was not filled to what it should be, no where near it, I'm talking load range E truck tires inflated to 30 PSI, instead of 65PSI written in the door jamb or 85psi written on tire.

I have a very hard time trusting repair shops .You pay out the buttocks for shoddy work or low and behold they convienently discover another problem that exsisted to cause the original problem and charge you out the buttocks to fix that one .Not at Palumbo's!!!!!..Those guy's know thier stuff!!!!...If you have a problem with you're car..Anything...They'll fix it first time They don't tell you one price and then make excuses after the problem is fixed to jack up the bill.I am so impressed with these guys I never take my car anywhere else.Honest to a fault.Very professional ..Definitely not a grese monkey rip off car center

Friendly, easy to schedule an appointment, and knowledgeable professionals. Pricing seems high to me, but I haven't any doubts about the quality of work. Seems if you want first class, you'll have to be willing to pay first class.

I had some pre-mature aging issues with the Goodyear tires that came on my 2009 pickup truck. Many small cracks on all tires and one had a large crack so deep you could see the cord in the sidewall. Mileage was 25,000. I figured the warranty would cover the deeply cracked tire but was not sure about the others. I went to Palumbos late on a Monday afternoon and discussed the situation with Kyle. He was able to get warranty coverage on all 4 tires and gave me a fair adjustment considering the age and mileage. Tuesday morning the new tires came in and by that evening I had 4 new Wrangler SR-A tires. I was very pleased with Goodyear and Palumbos standing behind their products and the quick service provided by Kyle and his crew. B.

I came to find Palumbo's on the internet. I previously went to NTB because my car had a bad wobble. They said I needed to replace all of my tires. The tires are only 7 months old. I told them I would pursue the warranty from the maker.I saw good things about Palumbo's on the computer and so I went there the following morning and Steve and Phil both waited on me. They pull the car in and after they did their checking told me my driver front wheel was bent. They gave me a total price and said it would be ready tomorrow, I dont know if they do this for everyone but they even gave me a ride home. My car was ready on time and for a third of what tires would have cost me AND then I still would have to buy a wheel. Need I say more? MTL

Love them! I had very bad running issues with my Ford 500. It would stall at traffic lights and had very little power under acceleration plus bad gas mileage. I had it at another shop where I was sold an oxygen sensor and an EGR part and they also suggested I might need to replace catalytic converter. I had the sensor and EGR done $519.00 and when I got into the car to leave the shop the light was still on and car stalled before I could pull out. The service manager told me I would need to do the converter at $800.00. I did NOT buy the cat.converter. I had heard from a friend about Palumbo's. I called there and was greeted by Kyle who was very professional and I dropped the car the next day. They performed a diagnostic ($90) and the technician found a broken vacuum hose and a clogged air filter. The total bill was $117.59 and the car has not run this well in over a year. I have also gained almost 4 miles per gallon in my fuel mileage. Thank You !!!

I was there yesterday after picking up a nail down the road on Route 40. I was now unexpectedly in the market for a tire. I had stopped at the 3 or 4 stores from Elkton to Glasgow to price out my potential purchase. The prices from the various stores were very close but the brands I did not hear of before. At Palumbo's I was a immediately greeted with not one but three smiles. A first. The man who ultimately took care of me was Steve. He shook my hand (another first) and walked out to my car (another first) to assess my needs. Steve showed me where the steel was coming out of my other front tire (another first) and my back tires were on the wear out indicators. I of course bought for tires and cannot believe the difference in ride and comfort. I left there with a very competitve price and absolutely superb service. I highly recommend this tire center. MLB

I am new to the Newark area so I was a little leery about getting my car repaired. I read the reviews for Palumbo and took my car for servicing, I think the overall experience was positive, The labor cost per hour was on the low end compared to the industry average. Parts on the otherhand were on the high end. Customer service was good going in not so good leaving. Ladies: buy the wipers yourself and have them installed free, you can have a nice lunch with the upcharge!

These guys are awesome...especially Tyrone and Elbert. I drove in on a Saturday after closing and these fine fellows saved me from a breakdown on my way to Baltimore by fixing a flat tire when I had no spare tire. Great prices too. The owners son, however, was in a hurry to leave and left the others to do the work...but the other fellows made up for it.

I was in there last week after almost being burned by my local Chevy dealer at the tune of $1800. They took the time to explain to me what I needed and when I needed it. I left Palumbo's paying only a $679.44. The other stuff was the dealer was trying to push was unnecessary fluff. My car now runs great.

I just had the damage on my truck estimated at this shop. They wanted $500 for an axle shaft, $13 for axle shaft seal, and $65 for an axle shaft bearing. These parts retail for under $300 on the high end. I found all three parts, in the same package, brand new for $124 with a lifetime warranty. Not to mention they wanted $90 for a leaf spring shackle, which costs $60, and $25 for differential fluid, that retails for $15. An alignment here costs $109 which is a major ripoff. All in all they estimated the repairs to be $1050.00. I did the work myself for under $200 minus the alignment. I saved myself $800. You should check around before having your automobile repaired here, because they charge outragous prices.

You guys saved me on Christmas Eve!!! I had a blow out down the road and all the other shops were closed. I limped into Palumbo's (who were also closed) but saw someone in the office wrapping Christmas presents. I desperately knocked on the glass, told the man my story. He (his name is Steve) explained that everyone was gone for the holidays but offered to pull my car in and put my spare on and plus made me a great cup of coffee. And he diidnt charge me a penny. Thanks Palumbo's !!

All I can say is these guys are great. I am a longtime local customer and I know the whole crew. My family and I have been going there for 30 years. My grown kids only take their cars to Palumbo's. Ty and Steve are personable and honest , and you still see the owner Mr.Palumbo coming and going and working the counter. Thanks guys for always being there for my family...... Rocco M.

i am writing this email from my sisters kitchen table here in Newark. Just wanted to drop a quick note regarding your service at Palumbo's. I was coming to visit my sis from Va. beach and in Middletown my engine lite came on and my Voyager started running poorly. I limped into the repair shop there and a person walking out of that store noticed my dilemma and told me to keep on going to the Palumbo's Goodyear (just 10 miles up the road). He said that if he was breaking down thats where he would want to be! Well as you read before Steve runs a great operation. He is honest and on the ball!! Tye, sorry to hear about your loss. My family and I were leaving for vacation on Friday morning and I came out to my car and sitting in my driveaway was my Volvo with two slashed tires. We had packed the car the night before and the trunk was full of luggage. I called 3 stations and Palumbo's were the only ones that had answered the phone at 7 am. Steve had taken my call , looked up my tire size , because I had no idea. He told me to come right down, which I did and Steve got me right in. So we are at the shop (which btw is immaculate) with my 3 kids gloomily looking at our car up on the lift anxious to leave on vacation. Steve is handing out childrens books and putting cartoons on the television for them. Palumbo's certainly made what should have been a miserable start to our vacation actually one of the bright spots of what turned out to be a wonderful week.

I have read the other reviews and agree with everyone of them. Those guys arent just good but Steve and his guys were my "knight in shining armor" when I discovered a flat tire at the grocery store. This flat occurred only 2 hours after my car was at another shop getting a tire rotation! My car and I limped over to Palumbo's (I was already late to get my kids from school). Steve enthusiastically greeted me ,quickly assessed the situation and had my car in and out of the shop in under 30 minutes! All the people there are friendly and professional. What a joy it was to go to Palumbo's. They will certainly have my business again.

Cant say enough about this crew. My first experience was after I had spent $956 at a another shop and still had problems. Bob and Steve took the time to LISTEN to my problem. They had me diagnosed ,repaired and back on the road the same day for under $150.00. Thanks Guys

Notably good service experience

We moved to Delaware in March. Dealt with a Goodyear shop in Texas for 20 years. Needed to find a good shop and my neighbor recommended Steve Palumbo's shop. We have 4 cars in the family and Steve and his boys have already worked on all of them. Every time there has been a pleasant experience. I never had any problems. They even found tires for my 72 VW bug that I could'nt locate in Texas. These guys really go out of their way for their customers. P.S they even have free soft drinks and bottled water.
