Located in Newark, Del., the Newark Senior Center supports the Meals on Wheels program, which delivers more than 100 meals a day to homebound residents. It is a daily nutritional program that provides nutritious meals. The meals are administrated by local nonprofit agencies and delivered by caring volunteers every day. Each meal that is supplied is comprised of one-third of the federal nutritional recommended daily allowance. The program provides assistance for senior citizens who are chronically ill and frail. The Newark Senior Center is a nonprofit community center that provides a variety of activities and services for adults of the age of 50 and above.
