General Info
Seaport Securities Corp was founded in 1979 from the floor of the NYSE to provide investors deep discounts in brokerage commissions, without sacrificing service or good executions. Seaport Securities Corp is a member of the New York Stock Exchange, where our founder and president continues to represent our firm and its' many clients. Over the past 26 years, Seaport Securities Corp has assembled a team of highly trained professionals to serve our clients investing and trading needs. Seaport Securities Corp offers you all the safeguards and accurate record keeping you expect from "full service" brokerage firms. All accounts are carried by our clearing agent, Penson Financial Services. Seaport Securities Corp is a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation ( SIPC ). Accounts are carried by the clearing firm, Penson Financial Services, member SIPC. The Securities Investor Protection Corporation ( "SIPC" ) provides $500, 000 of net equity protection, including $100, 000 for claims for cash awaiting reinvestment ( "SIPC coverage" ). Penson Financial Services provides additional protection ( "Excess SIPC" ) through a group of London Underwriters with Lloyd's of London Syndicates as the Lead Underwriter. Account protection applies when a SIPC member firm fails financially and is unable to meet obligations to securities clients, but it does not protect against losses from the rise and fall in the market value of investments and does not cover all assets. About SIPC: The Securities Investor Protection Corporation ( SIPC ) is a non-profit organization established by the Congress of the United States to insure client accounts against the failure of member brokerage firms.
