General Info
Scott Sanders Founded in 2000, Scott Sanders LLC is a New York-based design firm, specializing in residential interiors. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, with a degree in Interior Design, Scott Sanders began his professional career at Polo Ralph Lauren. He created the company's Interior Design Department and, as design director, transformed the residences of Polo Ralph Lauren clients in California, Florida, New York, Connecticut and Paris. His highly acclaimed renovation of the Beach House Bal Harbour Hotel for the Rubell family in Miami Beach during his last year with Polo Ralph Lauren reflected Sanders now evident signature style and was a driving force in establishing Scott Sanders LLC. Sanders' passion for interior design can be traced back to his childhood in Ohio. The son and grandson of residential developers, Sanders grew up surrounded by building materials and design elements. Accompanying his father and grandfather to construction sites and commercial vendors, he developed a keen eye for color, texture, shape and composition. He demonstrated such a knack for pulling things together that, by the time he was twelve, he was in charge of selecting everything from bricks to bathroom tiles. And when he wasn't in the field, Sanders spent hours crafting his first line of custom furniture from Lego sets and drawing house plans in which he detailed the placement of everything from furniture to landscaping. This prodigious, early devotion to all aspects of the design process is now a hallmark of Sanders' professional career. Clients know that they may rely on his time-tested ability to take the smallest theme or idea and transform it into a total living or working environment, where every element has been thought out and every option considered. From buying prestigious art collections to purchasing knick-knacks at a local flea market, no detail is too small or grand for Sanders' professional eye. Sanders' impressive portfolio includes homes in New York City, Aspen, Bridgehampton, Miami Beach, Palm Beach, and Jumby Bay, Antigua. His clients, who have come to trust his vision, often come back for more, allowing the designer a free hand with their initial inspiration. More than two thirds of his client base is made up of repeat customers who rely on the designers' vision to fulfill an incredible diversity of design challenges. Sanders' scope and vision has also caught the media's eye. His versatility and whimsy, along with his love of color, line and classic proportion translate naturally onto the printed page. Many of his completed projects have been featured in prominent publications such as The New York Times, Veranda, House & Garden, House Beautiful, Interior Design, Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, German Architectural Digest, Travel & Leisure, and Elle Decor. His work has also been published in several books, including the Andrew Martin Interior Design Review, Vol. 8 and Vol. 9, which feature the world's leading interior designers, The Swimming Pool: Stylish and Inspirational Ideas for Building and Decorating Your Pool' by Martha Baker and 'Inspired High End Interior Design' by Shane Reilly. He has participated in the 2003 and 2005 Hampton Designer Showhouses, as well as the 2006 Designer Showhouse of New Jersey. In April 2010, Pointed Leaf Press published Picture Perfect: Designing the New American Family Home, an innovative book that documents Sanders' inspired youth, his accomplished career, and a project that represents the culmination of a four year adventure in interior design and catalogs in detail-from tile samples to bed linens- the myriad of choices that transform an empty house into a wonderfully functional family home.
