Never order a take-out deliver...

Never order a take-out delivery from this restaurant!

In a nutshell, I ordered food at 7:15 and it arrived at 8:55, somewhat cold, I called the restaurant 3 times and they did not think to give me as much as an apology.

We have eaten at Indus Valley many times and have also done take out multiple time. The food is pretty decent, but by no means deserves 4 stars. We are fans of Indian food. Indus Valley tend to be slow on delivery and punctuality of delivery was never their strongest point, but last time passed all limits.

I went online, it offered me to fill a deliver for 7:45 and I selected a few items (totaling $140). By the time I checked out 3 minutes, it told me to expect the food around 8:00. I let that slide, given that 45 minutes was more realistic given past experience anyway. At 8:20 I called the first time. "Oh, you ordered online, we are busy at the restaurant, that is why it took us longer" . No apology, or thought that I should have been notified, given some priority nevertheless, I paid sit down prices for this food. "The delivery left, you should get it any minute now, within 3 minutes". At 8:35 I call the 2nd time and notified them that I still did not receive my food, their first response was "well what do you want me to do about it". I replied that they charged my card, I have been waiting for my food for 1 hour and 20 minutes, it is more than 35 minutes late and my daughters are hungry and have to go to sleep. "I will get the manager". The manager also did not think to apologize, reduce that cost of my order given their screw-up, or even view it as a screw-up or any problem". I demanded to know when my food is really expected to arrive. "I will call the delivery person and and call you back in 2 minutes". 15 minutes later, still no food, the manager has not yet called me back and we are all hungry, tired and falling apart. I get the first lady that regularly answers the phone. No apology, she is obviously annoyed that I am disturbing her again, it is obviously unreasonable that I am expecting my food 90 minutes after my order and 45 minutes after their delivery window. She practically hangs the phone on me. 5 minutes later the food finally arrives, already cold, lacking to regular amounts of Raita and condiments that usually comes with this food.

I paid $140 for the most miserable meal and got the worse customer service in the past 40 years of my life. This is inexcusable. Mistakes happen to even the best of restaurants, but their attitude on the phone in light of their mistake can never be forgiven
